Thursday June 6th Santiago de Compostela

Thursday June 6th Santiago de Compostela

Today was just a hang out day and switch domiciles as rooms are at a premium for some reason. Lots and lots of rain and wind 💨today—LOTS!  We really were blessed with the weather we had for the majority of our Portuguese app Camino.

After getting to our new room we worked on getting bus reservations to Porto Portugal tomorrow.  The bus company will not accept credit cards that are not Spanish. This took us three attempts online then a call to customer service and we were told to use PayPal!  This worked and we saw the bus seating plan showing about 60% full already. We then walked to the bus station about 20 minutes walk to check out the route. And the weather god blessed us with cyclone winds and rain. After the asthe trial run we came back to our room and got dry clothes before going to the cathedral museum and Portico of Glory tour.  The portico has been closed for 10 years up until 2018.  You’ll just need a to look it up but the portico of glory dates to about 1200 and was the portal to the church for all pilgrims. The environmental damage and damage from people has been stabilized and the whole thing is inside a temperature and humidity controlled section. No pictures no recording no touching and preferably no breathing while inside. 😎

After this we toured the church museum and then got lunch at about 3PM and met up with Ginny and Benny to talk about their trip to lands end and other places.

So dinner tonight then pack our
Packs and make ready to journey to Lisbon tomorrow.

Only a few pictures today will try to post something.
